Beginner Guide
Start strong without spoilers
This page is built for players who want clarity, not spreadsheets. Follow the priorities below to stabilize your runs, learn the systems naturally, and keep the story enjoyable.
1) Win the “easy” fights first
Early consistency matters more than flashy combos. If a card or choice makes your deck smoother, take it—even if the damage number looks smaller.
2) Keep your deck lean
Adding “maybe useful later” cards is the fastest way to brick draws. Prefer upgrades, removals, and cards that fit your current plan.
3) Pick one identity, then support it
Decide what your run is trying to do (pressure, control, tempo, scaling). Then choose cards, rewards, and events that push in the same direction.
Common mistakes (and quick fixes)
“My deck does everything… and nothing.”
Cut the off-plan cards and commit to a main win condition. One focused deck beats three half-decks.
“I keep losing to bosses.”
Add answers: scaling damage, reliable defense, or tempo tools. Boss fights punish decks that only
work when everything lines up.
“I’m stuck choosing rewards.”
When in doubt: pick consistency. Card draw, energy/mana efficiency, and removals usually outperform
raw power.
“I don’t know what to read next.”
